giving
There are many ways to include us in your estate planning. Some may even provide income and tax advantages for you right now while ensuring the future of Hospice & Palliative Care of Washington County. A partial list of ways to help support our work is listed below.
Benevolence: A way to celebrate the life of a living person, perhaps by remembering their birthday, anniversary or another event in their life.
Unrestricted Gifts: This would be any gift that you make allowing us to use it for services of greatest need.
Restricted Gifts: If you choose to support a specific interest or program this would be the way to ensure your dollars benefit that particular interest.
In-Kind Gifts: Donations of equipment, supplies, services or prizes for fundraising events can be given throughout the year. Please call our office for information about particular needs (503-648-9565).
Sponsorships and Grants: Helping to underwrite one of our events or programs is a gracious way for your company or family to contribute to the work we do. Sponsorships also provide visibility for your business.
Matching Gifts: Check with your company to see if they have a matching donation program. If so, your gift can be doubled through their support.
Life Insurance, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Gift Annuities, Stock Options, Bequests and Retirement Plans: These planned giving vehicles ensure the long-term stability of our organization, with some providing an income stream, savings on capital gain and estate tax savings. We invite you to explore these options with your financial planner or attorney. We will work with your team to develop a strategy that will benefit you and your family.
Please call to schedule an appointment to discuss these and other "Donate Later" options. |

gifts of remembrance
Memorial donations are a meaningful way to express one's sympathy and respect when remembering a friend or family member. Hospice & Palliative Care of Washington County has grown from a dream to a self-sustaining reality over the past 27 years, through the generosity of people like yourself.
No one is ever turned away from our doors based on their ability to pay.
Hospice services are covered by reimbursements from Medicare, Medicaid and some private insurance. In most cases reimbursement covers about two-thirds of the actual costs associated with hospice care. This leaves us with a shortfall of about one-third of our operating expenses and this is only met through fundraising and charitable donations. Your unrestricted gifts provide significant support, enabling us to continue providing compassionate care for every patient and serving their family long after their loved one is gone. Gifts also help us continue our existing outreach and educational programs, our grief support programs and our palliative care services.
As a not-for-profit, your financial gift is tax deductible to the extent the law allows.
Your support now will ensure that we will be there for you, your family member, neighbor or friend when you need us.
Every gift makes a difference and is greatly appreciated. Thank you for supporting Hospice & Palliative Care of Washington County. |
