Our hospice is a home-based program designed to meet the special physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of terminally ill patients and their families. Hospice provides skilled nursing, pain and symptom control, counseling, practical home care and a variety of therapies. |
| Hospice & Palliative Care of Washington County exists to provide support and care of persons in the last phases of incurable disease so they might live fully and as comfortably as possible. Emphasis is placed on the quality of life rather than on extending life by any means. The philosophy of hospice is not specifically a place or a program. In its broader sense, it is a concept of care. The purpose of hospice is to improve the quality of the patient and families lives by alleviating pain and recognizing that dying patients have special needs different from those whose treatment is designed to achieve a cure. Care is provided regardless of ability to pay. |
